#NHLSouth Draft Results — Friction Tape

My team, like this Tumblr, is called Friction Tape. We drafted today despite the fact that a season is looking less and less likely with every passing minute. Follow after the jump for who I drafted — I’m feeling more confident with this team than pretty much any other team I’ve ever drafted.
Forwards
- Ryan Kesler (VAN) — keeper from last year
- Logan Couture (SJ) — keeper from last year
- Justin Williams (LA) — keeper from last year
- Jeff Carter (LA) — keeper from last year
- Milan Michalek (OTT) — keeper from last year
- Radim Vrbata (PHO) — keeper from last year
- Mike Ribeiro (WAS)
- Patrick Elias (NJ)
- Daniel Alfredsson (OTT)
- Mike Fisher (NSH)
- Jaromir Jagr (DAL)
Defensemen
- Kimmo Timonen (PHI) — may retire
- Matt Carle (TB)
- Tomas Kaberle (MTL)
- Dan Girardi (NYR)
- Sami Salo (TB)
Goalies
- Cory Schneider (VAN)
- Kari Lehtonen (DAL) — keeper from last year
The glaring deficiency in the lineup is in the defense corps. We ice four defensemen a night in this league, so if Timonen retires and someone gets injured, I’ll have to hope there’s a FA available — and our league is bigger this year than in years past — or I’ll have to move some offensive talent. I’m also not crazy about my goaltenders either, though when Schneider gets a start, he plays like he wants Luongo’s job.
